Share a screen recording with the right people

Review sensitive content, choose a sharing method, and verify that your intended recipient can watch.

Review what the recording reveals

Watch for email addresses, private browser tabs, account settings, and customer information. Use sample data during capture whenever possible. Check the audio too: sensitive information can be spoken even when it is not visible.

Choose a file or a controlled link

Export a local file when you want to deliver it through an approved company tool. If using Google Drive, choose access appropriate to the audience and follow your workspace’s policy. A link alone does not guarantee that a recipient has permission to view it.

Test access before sending

Verify access from the recipient’s perspective using an appropriate separate account. Avoid changing a private video to public merely to fix a permission error. Add a descriptive title and a short written summary so the recipient understands what they are opening.
